MEDIA RELEASE

SINGAPORE – 18 March 2025 – YWCA of Singapore announces its pilot CaregivHER programme as an Income OrangeAid Caregiver Support Accelerator awardee, to address critical caregiver support needs in Singapore.

The CaregivHER programme supports female caregivers across diverse backgrounds and life circumstances, recognising that caregiving pressures cut across income levels. It aims to support caregivers navigating financial strain or challenging household situations, while remaining accessible to caregivers experiencing caregiving demands more broadly.

CaregivHER is a holistic wellbeing and resilience programme designed to support women caregivers in Singapore. Through bite-szed Body (physical health) – Mind (mental health) – Spirit (social wellbeing) sessions, structured peer-support circles, and trained volunteers, we aim to reduce isolation and prevent caregiver burnout.

The matched CareHER volunteers will provide regular caregiver check-ins, while the cultivation of ShareGivers through family engagement, aims to promote shared caregiving responsibilities.

The programme will engage approximately 120 caregivers through accessible, non-clinical support.

Sim Hwee Hoon, President, YWCA of Singapore, emphasises on the need to support caregivers through the CaregivHER programme. “Today’s women often play many roles at once. She may be a professional, a caregiver, a daughter, a mother, an entrepreneur, a volunteer, and sometimes all at the same time. Behind many strong families in Singapore is often a woman quietly making it all work. While many women carry these responsibilities with incredible strength and grace, they are also navigating pressures of caregiving demands, financial pressures and emotional strain that are often unseen. YWCA’s renewed focus is clear. To uplift women in Body, Mind and Spirit.”
