The YWCA Kids’ Weekday Care is a new thrice-weekly after school care service created in response to the needs of Meals-on-Wheels beneficiary families launching in Term 2 2016.
It focuses on the overall development of primary school children from low-income families through a broad range of activities such as tutoring, mentorship, enrichment, soft skills and life skills workshops, outings and group work. Service and value-based learning is emphasized.
It aims to provide social, emotional, moral and academic support to disadvantaged children by creating a rewarding and conducive environment for them to develop their self-worth, character, and discover their unique potential and strive for excellence.
The Kids’ Weekday Care relies heavily on volunteers for meaningful interaction and impact on these individual children. The service runs every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 2pm to 6pm at the YWCA Outram except on school and public holidays.

Befriender / Tutor | Befriend the children and provide tutoring for them | Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 2-6pm |
